Imagine this: waking up with the sun on your face and a view over the coast of Soulac-sur-Mer. Wetsuit on, surfboard under your arm, and ready to catch waves for 7 days. In between, there’s time for a beach volleyball tournament, a day trip to Bordeaux, or a freestyle competition in the skatepark. And when the sun sets, the beach transforms into our own dance floor, with live bands, top DJs, silent disco, and fun evenings at the local surf bar.

Of course, you get to choose which activities you want to participate in. During the day, you can use our wetsuits, surfboards, camping facilities, and longboards for free.

Behind The Dunes takes place from Saturday September 12 to Saturday September 19 at the coast of Soulac-Sur-Mer.

On Friday, September 11, we will depart together by bus from Belgium to the French coast. You’ll be back home on Sunday morning, September 20.

You have 5 days to pay the deposit of just €95. The remaining amount must be paid by July 15th.

You can already add the bus trip, breakfast buffet, surf lessons, and the upgrade to a Safari Lodge or Bungalow when you register. You’ll be able to add the other options to your registration later.

The bus departs from Belgium on Friday evening, September 11, so you'll arrive in Soulac-Sur-Mer on Saturday morning, September 12. You will receive the final departure times and the address of your pickup location two weeks before departure.

Are you coming by your own transport? We’ll be happy to welcome you on the Saturday morning at the campsite.

Where and when does the trip take place?

Behind The Dunes takes place from Saturday September 12 to Saturday September 19 at the coast of Soulac-Sur-Mer.

On Friday, September 11, we will depart together by bus from Belgium to the French coast. You’ll be back home on Sunday morning, September 20.

How can I sign up?

You can register with a group of 1 to 16 people. Make sure everyone is at least 18 years old on the day of departure. The first person to register creates the group, and the rest have 5 days to join the group. It's simple and quick!

When do we leave & when do we come back?

The bus leaves from Belgium on Friday evening, September 11, so you'll arrive in Soulac-Sur-Mer on Saturday morning, September 12.

The buses depart from the following pick-up locations:

  • Antwerp
  • Bruges
  • Ghent
  • Kortrijk

The bus returns home on Saturday, September 19. This way, you'll be back home by Sunday morning.

What is the cost for an empty bed?

A vacant bed in your accommodation? No problem, but please note that we charge a small fee for this. The price depends on the type of stay you choose.

Note: you can have a maximum of 2 vacant beds per accommodation.

Can I take surfing lessons?

Whether you're standing on a board for the first time or looking to take your skills to the next level: you'll be in good hands with our licensed instructors.

You can find all the info about the surf lessons here.

When booking, you can indicate if you'd like surf lessons. We'll send you all the information two months before departure so you can choose your final package then.

Good to know: Your surf gear (board and wetsuit) is already included in the base price. So you only pay for the surf lesson itself.

Can anyone sign up for Behind The Dunes?

To participate in Behind The Dunes, you must be 18 years or older at the time of departure.

Can I bring my own surf gear?

Absolutely!

Would you like to bring your own surf gear on the bus? That's possible for just € 15.

I'm registered but can't join anymore. What now?

We recommend everyone to book cancellation insurance. This way, in the lead-up to the trip – according to our cancellation conditions – you can still cancel and get a large portion of the amount paid back.
